MADDY MACLEOD
España
España or Spain as most know it by, is a country known for its diverse geography, tapas (small plates), art museums, and flamenco dancing. Throughout my travels, I had the opportunity to witness the beauty of Spain, from the magnificent architecture to the delicious cuisine they serve.
During my trip, I was able to visit several of the cities in this country including Madrid, Sevilla, Toledo and Segovia. Although each of these cities was incredible in its own way, I especially favored my time in Madrid and Sevilla. These cities in particular captivated me specifically the Puerta del Sol in Madrid and the Torre del Oro in Sevilla.
Some of the sights that Spain is most known for are the Templo de Debod, Puerta del Sol, Catedral Primada Santa María de Toledo, and Alcázar of Segovia. My favorite foods in Spain in were the Tortilla Española and Jamon Ibéricó.
Paella is a signature dish of Spain, typically consisting of several spices, risotto rice, seafood, poultry, stock and vegetables. My group and I participated in a cooking class where we learned how to make this Spanish meal. Taking off the shrimp heads and shells made me a little squeamish, but the end product proved to be delicious.
